St Clares Abbey.

A negotiated contract between the client & contractor to refurbish & renovate a small section of the forsaken convent. The convent which built in 1853 was occupied by the Poor St Clares sisters until January 2006 were the physical costs of the abbey began to exceed the charitable contributions provide by the public. The brothers of Saint John of God welcomed the generosity of Poor St Clares sisters & began to deal with the daily administration of the convent. J3 Projects Ltd sphere of activity was to fully refurbish a section of the abbey into new living quarters for the Provincial & provide new national offices, meeting room & conference room for the Hospitaller Order.
The refurbishment included for all new services, gas, water, electric & communications both under & above ground. All new finishes throughout the building were required & all new bespoke joinery products such Douglas Fir veneered fire doors, black antique ironmongery & individual pieces of eloquent furniture for each of the offices & living quarters. Superb wall papers were used to finish of feature walls within the meeting room & the Provincials office. New limestone fire surrounds, hearths & mantle pieces were installed to encapsulate the theme of the very old meeting the very new, 21st century meets the 19th century.
