TGI Fridays Trafford Centre
Manchester
July 28th to October 31st 2008
TGI Fridays opened their new restaurant to the general public on November 5th 2008 to the new brand scheme, a brighter & airy atmosphere to the diners & guests. Stainless steel & glass has become the contemporary design of today & TGI Fridays wanted to show how this can done to their American brand. The brief from client to architect was to provide an informal dining experience with a light & spacious tone.
Having worked with the client on previous sites around the UK, J3 Projects Ltd recognized exactly what Carlson Restaurants was looking for with the end product. Dale Margerison & J3 Projects Ltd awareness of the brand prompted the architect in particular areas of the restaurant were the client was unsure of their end result. The relationship between the architect & contractor was well established, having worked with them on previous brands & sites throughout the UK.
As main contractor to the client J3 Projects Ltd involvement with the Trafford Centre was intense with regular safety inspections by their safety officer. Amendments & modifications to CDM file & Construction Phase Plan were on a daily basis. The logistics on the movement of site personnel & materials was demanding as the centre was open for trading seven days a week & opened until late into the evenings especially around the Christmas festive season but regular, daily meetings with the Trafford safety consultants resulted in good positive results. All the features of the new brand from architectural metalwork, marble bar tops & feature glass panelling were orchestrated by J3 Projects Ltd with their nominated sub contractors. All the bespoke joinery elements were created in-house to the quality standard requisite by J3 Projects Ltd.
